Additional Ingredients: Thalipeeth Recipe

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • Salt to taste

  • Water, as needed to form the dough

  • Ghee or oil, for cooking

👩‍🍳 Preparation Steps: Thalipeeth Recipe

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine all the flours to make the Bhajani mix. Add chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add water to form a soft, pliable dough.

  2. Shape the Thalipeeth: Divide the dough into equal portions. On a plastic sheet or banana leaf, pat each portion into a flat, round disc using your fingers, creating a small hole in the center to ensure even cooking.

  3. Cook the Thalipeeth: Heat a tawa or flat skillet over medium heat. Place the Thalipeeth on the tawa, drizzle a little ghee or oil around the edges and in the center hole. Cook until golden brown spots appear on both sides, flipping as necessary.

  4. Serve: Serve hot with a dollop of homemade butter, yogurt, or spicy chutney for an authentic experience.

🌟 Tips for Perfect Thalipeeth

  • Dough Consistency: Ensure the dough is soft but not sticky to make patting easier.

  • Even Thickness: Pat the dough evenly to ensure uniform cooking.

  • Flavor Variations: Incorporate grated vegetables like carrots or bottle gourd for added nutrition and taste.
